Wild Honey Presents: The Lovin' Spoonful - A Celebration of the Music

This night will be a special blend of talent with many stars, you won't want to miss.  Nick Guzman is one of the L.A. music scene's most dynamic and talented young wunderkind rockers. He has spent a decade perfecting his considerable foundational musical talent for classic rock in the studio and on stage. The result is a soulful and fully embodied recreation of the songs of The Beatles. The Cars, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, and Neil Young. Nick has shared the stage with such legends as Crosby, Stills & Nash, Ricky Lee Jones, Richie Furay, Al Jardine, Van Dyke Parks and Jackson Browne. He has been a familiar presence at the annual Wild Honey benefits at the vintage Alex Theater in Glendale, California. Nick Guzman has also been a frequent guest at The Coffee Gallery Backstage's Roadhouse Series. Recently he appeared at the successful Tribute to Harry Nilsson with Zak Nilsson.Currently, he will appear on a new release tribute to the music of Irish rocker, Thomas Walsh. Also appearing at Nick's premiere solo show at The Coffee Gallery Backstage will be John York of The Byrds and Rob Bonfiglio of Wilson Phillips, The Brian Wilson band and The Beach Boys. Nick's special guest will be singer-songwriter & spoken word performance artist Stephen Kalinich who has collaborated with Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney.

Birthday Celebration and Memorial Tribute for John Wicks Tribute to John Wicks. John Wicks and the Records was a seminal power-pop band originating in the UK. With hits like "Starry Eyes" and "Hearts in Her Eyes", they developed a fervent following. Leader John Wicks, made his home in the United States settling in the Los Angeles area and performed with a newly reformed band and guesting on many benefits and other shows, including several performances here at Bogie's. He also performed with Debbi Peterson of The Bangles in Broken Sky. John left us in October 2018, losing the battle with cancer. We pay tribute to John and celebrate his birthday and the mark he left with us all - lifting our spirits with his performances. Performances by Debbi Peterson and Broken Sky, The Records, with special guests Al Stewart, Jude Cole, Peter Asher, Bill Berry, Jamie Savko (of the Waddy Wachtel Band) and more. For the July edition of the Roadhouse Series we’ll be honoring America. Remember America? The Home of the Brave the Land of the Free? Yes! That America. Be ready for some musical fireworks! It is time to come together, from every walk of life to celebrate together the music of our great country. This will include patriotic songs, ballads, hymns, songs of protest, songs of glory, songs of tragedy and songs of tragedy. You’ll hear it in the music of our land from Irving Berlin to Woody Guthrie. We’ll cover songs like “American Pie,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” "God Bless America" “Born in the U.S.A.” and “Rockin in the Free World.” Through our music, through every genre, we celebrate our independence, our diversity and the ingenious music that has led us through our near 250 years of history. From blues, country and folk to rock, soul and jazz, it’s the music that has brought us together. So, come on along to continue the 4th of July for an extra day with the Roadhouse Series…Because, wherever there’s a 4th of July, there’s always a 5th. On the heels of our sold-out, acclaimed 2017's celebration of THE BAND (featuring Garth Hudson, Jackson Browne, Carlene Carter, & The Continental Drifters), The Wild Honey Orchestra and Friends with special guest RICHIE FURAY, Buffalo Springfield founder and songwriter, will explore the earth-shaking folk/country/psychedelic rock of Buffalo Springfield, a heavily influential band that also featured Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Bruce Palmer, Dewey Martin, and later Jim Messina. THE ROADHOUSE SERIES PRESENTS: The Best of the Roadhouse-2017

Well folks, it’s been one year since we first began The Roadhouse Series illustrating highlights in the history of Americana-roots music with some of L.A.’s finest musicians. Since our first show, a tribute to Hank Williams, we have explored the music of Buddy Holly, Stax-Chess Records, the Laurel Canyon Sound, the British Invasion and the Bakersfield Sound among many others. It has been a rich, diverse and rewarding experience for the audience and performers alike. In fact, a unique community has formed during these landmark shows.  Now in the Roadhouse Series best fashion and in keeping with the high quality of entertainment value at The Coffee Gallery Backstage, January will be a celebration of the first anniversary with the best of the Roadhouse shows in 2017. Included in the festivities will be door prizes, trivia contests and a raffle. For those who have faithfully attended the series, there will be certificates of completion of one year of studies in American-roots music.Our special honored guests at this show will be Phil Chen, Ronnie Mack and Owen Goldman. Phil Chen is a legendary bass player who performed live and in the studio with Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, Jimmy Cliff, Rod Stewart and The Doors of the 21st Century. The bass solo on the Rod Stewart hit song,m“Hot Legs” belongs to Phil Chen.  Owen Goldman has is a drummer and vocalist par excellence. He play with Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and Ian Astbury in The Doors revival band D21C. He currently plays with Krieger. Ronnie Mack is one of the key players in reviving country music in L.A. with live performance and his famous Barn Dance series once housed at The Palomino in North Hollywood. To help us celebrate, the best of the best artists who have appeared in the last year will be along for the ride. He has spent a decade perfecting his considerable foundational musical talent for classic rock in the studio and on stage. The result is a soulful and fully embodied recreation of the songs of The Beatles. The Cars, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, and Neil Young. Nick has shared the stage with such legends as Crosby, Stills & Nash, Ricky Lee Jones, Richie Furay, Al Jardine, Van Dyke Parks and Jackson Browne. He has been a familiar presence at the annual Wild Honey benefits at the vintage Alex Theater in Glendale, California. Nick Guzman has also been a frequent guest at The Coffee Gallery Backstage's Roadhouse Series. Recently he appeared at the successful Tribute to Harry Nilsson with Zak Nilsson.Currently, he will appear on a new release tribute to the music of Irish rocker, Thomas Walsh. Also appearing at Nick's premiere solo show at The Coffee Gallery Backstage will be John York of The Byrds and Rob Bonfiglio of Wilson Phillips, The Brian Wilson band and The Beach Boys. Nick's special guest will be singer-songwriter & spoken word performance artist Stephen Kalinich who has collaborated with Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney.
